Help, I’m alive

Help, I’m Alive is the title of the forthcoming Metric record.

Screen shot from the video available on the Metric site

Emily sings:”Help, I’m alive, my heart keeps beating like a hammer.” Beautiful.

There’s a video and a letter on the website http://www.ilovemetric.com/

This makes me so excited. The piano is beautiful. Emily’s voice is beautiful. I love when Emily is solo, it sounds harsh but I hope the full band version doesn’t ruin it. I just want Emily + Piano + Strings. Basically I want Emily and the Soft Skeleton. I do like Metric alot though, so I’m excited to hear the record.  I’m excited to hear Emily sing in person, it’s only a matter of time before they do a UK tour. I’m not going to miss it for the world.

I love that video. I love to hear her speak. ”I’m really scared… I don’t know where my life is going and I don’t know what I’m doing”  Wow. I love her voice. Not just her singing voice, her talking voice. I wish she would release a really long record of her just talking. It’s like the lyric from KDHYB closer Winning, “When you talk can I tape you?”.  Haha, I’m pretty sure about 2 posts ago I said I wasn’t going to gush about how fantastic I think everything Emily does is.  I love at the end when she goes “That’s a good life. I can do that.” Then smiles and starts nodding. There’s so much hope and spirit in her eyes. She inspires me. And I love that she went to Buenos Aires on her own. It inspires me to just up and go to some random place on my own and be really creative. What a fantastic musician.

Enough, enough, I could go on forever. I’m so excited about this. YAY.

EDIT: It’s on youtube. I like the skeletal one in the video of just Emily, but I dig this too.
