Review: Chairlift @ Pure Groove

Chairlift, from Brooklyn by way of Colorado, played a free instore gig at Pure Groove today. The band were delayed in starting due to plug problems, their US plugs have a hard time fitting into our UK sockets without the relevant adapters and whatnot. The turnout was pretty good, lunch time instores can sometimes be a bit quiet. I was impressed by vocalist Caroline Polachek’s voice, it sounded great. The band played a short set so as to not exaughst their repertoire of songs, with another show at the Dublin Castle lined up later in the day. All in all I was pretty impressed and I would like to see this band play again.

More photos are on my Flickr (I’m too lazy to do a photo dump here today)

I quite enjoyed the show, lunchtime in-stores are the way to go I think! Can’t believe I’ve not been before, it’s so close to my office…
