Where is St. Vincent?

It seems like ages ago (it was ages ago) that St Vincent released Marry Me. It made it into my top 3 favourite records from 2007. I had a ticket to see her play at A Fistful of Fandango in Sptember, but she pulled out of the line up, I was disappointed to say the least.

According to this interview on Austinist.com Annie says of the new record:

“I think I’ll be done in early December for a Spring release. Other than that, my lips are sealed.”

Well, that’s reassuring. I’m intrigued to hear her new songs and see what she calls the new record. Everybody seemed to love the fact she called her debut Marry Me, she’s set herself a tough act to follow. I have faith she’ll pull it off. I wonder if Bang Bang will make it onto the new record? Time will tell. I look forward to finally hearing her play live.

Ah, the delightful Annie Clark. I’ll be honest, she’s never quite lived up to my expectations live (seen her twice solo, once with a band and neither incarnation has totally captured the magic of the album) but she’s undoubtedly an exceptionally talented woman.

Anyway, have you seen these videos? A friend from the AF messageboard posted them the other day- it’s all new material she previewed over the summer…

That’s a shame to hear. Every time I go past the Slaughtered Lamb I always think how great it would have been to see her there. Those videos are great! That last one is indeed very interesting.
