Ema and the Ghosts and the accordion

I’m borrowing my dad’s friend’s accordion. It’s hurting my arms and my back and is confusing, but fun. Accordion reminds me of Yann Tiersen and Ema and the Ghosts. It’s pretty easy to make the bass part sound nice, but it’s hard to play melody and bass. Atleast for me anyway.

This video is of Ema playing Little Pink River on accordion. And there’s whistling!

And this is After Hours, a Lou Reed Cover, on Venice Beach, on the ukulele.

Oh, and because when I saw Emmy the Great she started talking about the X-Factor winner who apparently covered Hallelujah, I actually actively sought out the cover so I could understand what Emmy was talking about. She was right, the X-Factor winner massacred the song. I made it half way through verse 1 before I shut it off. So, I relate this to Ema and the Ghosts and her Leonard Cohen cover. Ema does a cover of Memories, she covers it brilliantly (unlike X-Factor winner). I don’t think I’ll tire of this video.

Lucky! I’ve always wanted an accordion…looks like a right bugger to play though! Nice interview on the other post btw, looking forward to reading more of them.
