Patrick Wolf ‘event’

I haven’t really been following Patrick Wolf much lately. He’s got a new record on the way called Battle and he’s parted ways with Universal and is funding it through Band Stock. Like I said, I haven’t really been following Mr Wolf’s escapades of late, so I’m not the most informed person about this. Basically, Band Stocks seems to use the principal of shares and allows an artist’s fans to ‘invest’ in the artist in return for a stake in the record. I think I read that shares are £10. It seems like a pretty clever and creative way of generating some money, he’s already raised an epic £22,770. If you buy a share you stand the chance of randomly being selected to attend an intimate Patrick Wolf performance to about 30 people around a grand piano in a warehouse somewhere in London. Pretty lucky if you have a share and are picked. He also wants fans to send requests of old songs to him now so he can remind himself of the words, which is very sweet and thoughtful. His album also has Tilda Swinton on it (???). Visit his Bandstocks page here

Tour dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
