I receive things in the mail like a giddy over excited 5 year old. If you ever send me anything (unless you are the bank or the student loan people) you should know I greatly appreciate it. So a few weeks ago Sharon Van Etten answered a few questions for the blog and I ordered her CD. I had it delivered to my house, it arrived the other day. Conveniently my dad had a meeting five minutes away from me here in London so I asked him to bring the package up so I could listen. He kindly did so (and he brought me food!). While I do champion the benefits of downloading (it’s quick!) I always always prefer buying hard copies and then receiving them in the mail or picking them out at Rough Trade. So I didn’t even wait to get up to my room before I opened the package. I got a lovely sticker and a thank you note as well, which literally made me smile for like an hour. I’ve been listening to the CD this morning and I love it. I think that you should buy this CD, you can get it from Sharon’s store here.
It’s great how little things can make you really happy. As much as I like receiving mail, I also love sending it! I’m going to the post office tomorrow or the day after, would you like me to send you something? I still have lots of copies of my 16 page comic (examples here) left, please let me know if you want one. I’m happy to send them anywhere in the world, I sent one to Jeffrey Lewis in New York, and others to Florida and Australia, I’m about to send one to the Netherlands, and also less exotic places here in England. I’ll write you a letter and draw you some pictures too. Send your address to anikainlondon[at]googlemail[dot]com. I have nothing to do today, I gave my dad my guitar and books and stuff to take home so I don’t have to carry them tomorrow. I guess I should revise, I have an exam in a week, but nahhh.
