Amadou et Mariam at Pure Groove

After I made that post about instores I saw Amadou & Mariam have a lunchtime instore on the 25th at Pure Groove. Thank you Pure Groove, you have succeeded in helping to fill my day with live music. So, it’s Amadou & Mariam at lunch, Chairlift at tea, then off to M Ward after that. Amadou and Mariam are a couple from Mali and they play some pretty brilliant music that is a bit out of my normal music listening bracket, but I’m pretty sure they’ll be fantastic live. Not to be missed! They have a Koko show that evening too. More information on the Pure Groove website.

Anika i am so glad that you like this. I’m yet to get you into more stuff like this.. you wait!

I’m going to have to see if there are any more tickets for this otherwise i might actually cry. Africa Express 2007 at Glastonbury.. Oh the memories. I only knew that theyd be playing there because it popped up secretly on their website.
    Oh my.
Right.. Now have you heard of Tinariwen? I am going to see them at Bexhill March 18th.. Now they are also amazing, and have an amazing history. They are playing with that weird experimental folk band Tunng because they did something on bbc 3 previously that everyone loved.. I just hope theres lots of Tinarwiwen influence to the set and less of Tunng because they should be humbled in awe by this band that they should be silent!

watch this to hear their sound and story.. i came across it when i was searching for a clip of tunng with tinariwen so i could see what its like..

so glad i left a comment on your labyrinth picture.. otherwise id never come across this!!

well I unfortunately can’t even go to that anymore because I got a job. BOOOO. The job is ridiculously awesome though, so yay.

The instore is free btw Emily, it’s first come first served, no tickets.
