There is a celebration of Welsh bands at the Lexington this Saturday from 6pm. I will go because: (a) The Joy Formidable are playing (b) It’s £7 (c) the light is good, and (d) it’s in walking distance. This is a recipe for win. I know some venues think because it’s a Saturday it’s OK for them to be really tardy with stage times and doors, I hope this isn’t the case at the Lexington. I bought my ticket already, get them from WeGotTickets. Only 18 are remaining.
This is the line up: The Silver Gospel Runners (sound good), Fredrick Stanley Star (these folkies sound awesome!), Spencer McGarry Season (unimpressed), Cate Le Bon (Member of Neon Neon, sounds pretty good), The Joy Formidable (brilliant), and Threatmantics (unimpressed). Might head back after The Joy Formidable for a semi-early night.
