Singer: Liz Green

Liz Green is a folky singer from the North West. What sets her apart from the billions of other folky acts is her unique voice. I guess the all too ubiquitous tag ‘freak folk’ could perhaps be used here, she kind of reminds me a bit of Jana Hunter. I almost saw her last October, I had fully intended to but the stage times/orders switched and I had to miss her to catch Port O’Brien. This makes for unfinished business! She’s playing a show tonight at Bush Hall but it starts at 4.30 and there are loads of acts. I’m torn about whether to go, I feel like I should perhaps save my money and wait for a headline show, but I’m not sure when that will be. She has an appearance at SXSW lined up along with a European tour, followed by a UK tour supporting The Handsome Family. Tour dates here. She’s an act well worth investigating.     Yay for Liz Green! Don’t think I can make that show today though, got so much to catch up with!
