Super Weeks

Super Weeks are my favourite thing. They are weeks where every day there is a great show. Super weeks are risky business, though, because it’s easy to have clashes. Super weeks don’t necessarily need to be in the time fame of a week either, they just have to be a run of great shows.

My first super week went like this:

Monday: of Montreal @ Rough Trade and then Turner Cody @ The Slaughtered Lamb. Tuesday: Bodies of Water @ Cargo. Wednesday: Apollo Sunshine @ Rough Trade (lunch) then The Dears @ Rough Trade. Thurday: of Montreal @ Koko. Friday: Jenny Lewis @ Koko.

That was indeed a super week. Wednesday was a bit of a filler, though. My next super week went like this:

Friday: Black Lips busk and then Jeffrey Lewis @ Betsey Trotwood. Saturday: Owl Parliament. Sunday: Alessi’s bandstand busk. Monday: First Aid Kit @ Pure Groove, Neko Case @ Bush Hall. Tuesday: Deer Tracks @ Pure Groove, Fleet Foxes @ The Roundhouse. Wednesday: Chairlift @ Pure Groove, M Ward @ The Borderline. Thursday: Ane Brun @ Union Chapel. Friday: Emmy the Great @ ULU.

That was such a good run. I don’t have any more super weeks, boo to that. I have a couple of super days though, St Vincent followed by Scary Mansion, and in May Au Revoir Simone followed by Bishop Allen.

hehe me and the Rock should be BFF. I like to mix my shows up with bearded (and sometimes not bearded) folky (and sometimes not folky) men though… he probably wouldn’t approve of that. And if I am like the Rock then so are you! We go to all the same shows! :)
