Review: Blue Roses at Pure Groove

Oh my! What a voice!

Blue Roses

This was my second Laura Groves/Blue Roses experience of the year. Her songs are as sweet as ever and wow, wow WOW, her voice is so beautiful. The delicate piano and sweeping violin just makes for some really lovely moments that are very pleasing to my ears.

Laura sang some of the songs from her debut album which is out now on XL. I haven’t heard it yet but I’m pretty keen to. Her myspace informs me she’s playing the Apple store, not this Saturday but next. I’m sure I’ll post the details when I know them. Atlernatively, Londoners can catch her with Peggy Sue and, my favourite, Alessi’s Ark, at the Borderline on the 15th of May. She’s definately one you have to hear live, such a beautiful voice. Listen to her songs and go see her live. Go go go!

Yeah, you should get it. It’s a brilliant album. Tasty vinyl too…
