There are so many good shows approaching you would be forgiven for missing something. Here is what I’m going to:
Friday: Beirut + Shearwater + Sharon Van Etten @ The Forum. I am so glad Sharon is on this lineup, I wish I could have seen her yesterday too. This show sold out in a flash, like POW!
Saturday: Electroacoustic Club’s 5th Birthday @ Union Chapel, with The Johnny Parry Trio, Soy Un Caballo and This Is The Kit. Tickets and more info. Union Chapel is lovely and this will be great.
Sunday: Love Is All @ The Lexington. If you aren’t going to this you could also see Bishop Allen at The Brixton Windmill.
Monday: Alessi’s Ark @ Borders Oxford Street. YAY! I can’t wait for this. It’s free and everyone should come. Then after that Andrew Bird @ Shepherd’s Bush Empire. I love Andrew Bird, shame it’s at the Empire though.
Tuesday: Cursive @ Dingwalls. I have never been to Dingwalls and am thus intrigued. Will have to listen to Mama, I’m Swollen a few more times before Tuesday. Soy Un Caballo also have an instore at Pure Groove at lunchtime.
Wednesday: Hjaltalin @ Pure Groove. At 1.15. Don’t miss this! I can’t wait to see the band on such a tiny stage! And then, the big one, Whispertown2000 @ The Brixton Windmill. This will be AMAZING, tickets are cheap, there is no reason not to come.
Thursday: Alessi @ Rough Trade. 1pm. Hooray! Then, I think I am having to miss Yann Tiersen because my stupid exam is at 6-9pm. Ridiculous. If I finish early I will leave and try and get to Yann. Probably will finish early, I can only to abou 1/15th of the syllabus.
Friday: The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart @ Pure Groove. I missed them last time purely because I really dislike their band name. I hear such good things about them I feel I should go this time. It’s at 1.15. Then in the evening, a lineup not to be missed! Alessi’s Ark + Blue Roses + Peggy Sue @ The Borderline. More info and tickets.
I would classify this as a busy week.
