While feeling nostalgic after that Kimya Dawson song, I went in search of more nostalgia-inducing songs. I have a playlist on my ipod called “Walking To School” (awwh) which I haven’t clicked on in probably a year, which would have been the last times I went walking to school. I used to change the playlist alot. I’m confused because the last one there is only 30 minutes long, when it would take 50 minutes to walk. I would walk to my exams, there and back, it would give me time to think and be calm. The last playlist I made for school seems to be some sort of ‘best of’ kind of thing, because they’re all some of my favourite songs.
The last playlist there is this:
Jon Brion- Knock Yourself Out, Leonard Cohen- Memories, Jenny Lewis-Little Boxes, Elliott Smith- Whatever (Folk Song In C), of Montreal- Eagle-Shaped Mirror, Bishop Allen- Butterfly Nets, Best Friends Forever- Handpocket, The Good Life- Heartbroke, Mates of State- California, Whispertown2000- Restless, Metric- Soft Rock Star (Jimmy VS Joe Remix).
I love how time makes songs seem like old friends. I’ve loved Knock Yourself Out for, it must be around 4 or 5 years now. Really loved it, I really love this song alot. The music video is win-worthy too:
I guess when I’m old, like 25 (sorry to all those aged 25), I’ll be able to look back on all the songs I’m loving right now with fondness and nostalgia. Aww!
