Right! Time for some Whispertown-centric raving. I think it is my duty to stop London folk missing out on this amazing band’s first ever UK show. It will undoubtedly be a brilliant show and will be worth canceling plans for, traveling distances for, and paying £5 for. It’s at the Brixton Windmill on the 13th of this month. You really don’t want to miss this show (!!!). I know the Low Anthem and The Do and probably some more bands have shows that day, but this one is the winner.

If you have never listened to Whispertown, here is their Daytrotter session. Bouncy folk pop fronted by Morgan Nagler and her unique voice. I have so much love for this band and I think EVERYONE should love them too. Yes, everyone. Everyone in the whole world.

Also, there is a full live set available for download here. It was recorded in 2006 and is what made me really fall in love with the band. They do all my favourites, including Hometown, which is my super favourite, along with Restless and Through A Hole. They also do a cover of Gillian Welch’s Look At Miss Ohio. I love this live recording so much, so so so much. It’s free so you have nothing to lose in downloading it. And listen to my 3 favourites and maybe you will get why I love them so much. The whistle solo in Hometown is my favourite. Love.

Tickets here. Snap them up!
