Here is what I’m going to blog about

I am so busy. I am out all the time, from about 8am to midnight. The weekend finally has a meaning, whereas when I was a ‘student’ the weekend was just a continuation of the 5-day mid week weekend. I have so many things I want to gush about but I haven’t had time. I listen to music most of the day while I’m working at Songkick, so I frequently have moments where I want to write about all the great stuff I’m hearing. This weekend I’m going to tidy up and do some drawings and blog. I will blog about the shows I’ve been to, and point out my favourites. And I’ll blog about the shows I’m going to. And most likely, OJ and Nandos.

Tonight I am seeing The Leisure Society + a Willkommen Collective bonanza at Union Chapel. It’s a sitty downy gig, hurrah.

I particularly want to gush about She Keeps Bees:

… and because Sharon introduced me to them, I always think of her when I listen to them. And I can always write more about how much I love Sharon Van Etten, amazing amazing amazing lady. Listen to her.

She Keeps Bees opened for Chad Vangaalen at the ICA last night. Impressive sound, but couldn’t help feeling they fall under Florence & Machine syndrome – amazing voice, no memorable songs.

You might want to check out Pack A.D. who do the blues rock duo thing very well. They’re at End of the Road this year.

Yeah, she wasn’t at all what I was expecting (just from seeing the name here, I somehow just thought it was some British twee girly stuff- which I possibly would’ve liked!). She seemed a bit funny/crazy, but I’m not a fan of rocky stuff that much, so the best bit about it was that the songs were short and the set was shorter.

Chad was good, and Willow Tree was excellent, but don’t think I’d go to a gig especially to see him again. Maybe at a festival though, or a cool gig line-up.

I just tried Songkick the other day but didn’t know you were working there!

Definitely blog about some new artists you’ve heard. You know me, always on the lookout.

And OJ and Nandos definitely, please :)
