Whenever I get talking about End Of The Road festival I usually mention Laura Gibson, who is on the lineup. She’s one of the artists I’m most excited to see. I think it’s a great shame that nobody I talk to seems to know who she is… YET!
She’s a wonderful musician from Oregon, and she makes sweet, beautiful folk songs. Her 2006 record If You Come To Greet Me is a delight and her latest record, Beasts Of Seasons, is charming. She is especially brilliant because she plays with musical saw, which I love completely.
Her Myspace is here, listen to Hands In Pockets, it’s lovely. Or, for the visual learners, Funeral Song. It’s my favourite from the new record. Also, her cover of Take This Waltz kills me. It’s so beautiful. I can’t wait to see this talented lady perform live, I’m sure it will be brilliant.
