On the radio-oh-oh-oh

Last Friday BBC called and asked me to record something for Steve Lamacq’s last show. I said OK. Because it was the last show they wanted something about the London music scene. The bands had to be from London. I recommended Broadcast 2000, Treetop Flyers and Lulu and the Lampshades. I accidentally said Lulu and the Lampshades have two girls and a drummer, they actually have three girls and a drummer. Oops. And then they said to name the one band that’s ‘London’s brightest hope’ and say the most about them…

I obviously said Alessi. Gush gush gush, from the bottom of my cheesy heart. I can’t help myself. Who says ‘from the bottom of my heart’? I do, apparently. They play a clip of Constellations. I like that song.  It’s on the album, along with a bunch of other beautiful songs. Listen to it! Love it. Hear her songs here

And if you want to hear me being cheesy, it’s half an hour into the clip, here.
