Review: She Keeps Bees at the Brixton Windmill

NOOOOOOOOOOOO. So sad to see them go. This was my last time seeing this sweet and wonderful pair before they head back to Brooklyn. What a joyous three months, and what an honor to get to see them play so many times. They make amazing music that I love hugely. And on a personal note, they are two truly wonderful people who bring light and good energy wherever they go. They have such warm hearts and I can’t write enough good words about them. I love their songs and it’s even sweeter listening knowing that the sounds are being made by such good people.

They played their songs and the crowd loved it. They closed their set with the song that is nearest and dearest to my heart, Ribbon. That is one of my favourite live songs ever. I got pretty sad thinking that I won’t hear them do it again for a good few months. After lots of wooping and clapping they did an encore of Cold Eye. I love Andy’s drum parts on that song. Basically, I love all of their songs and all the different parts. Jessica has such a brilliant voice and they are an amazing live band. Nests is one of my favourite records of the year. If you ever get the opportunity to see them, don’t hesitate to take it. I have so much love for this band, it was wonderful to have them here all summer. I can’t wait until our paths next cross.

Yeah I know! Jess said they had some Autumn show, but I can’t go as I’m seeing Alessi play that day. I wish I could go to both :(
