Knives Don’t Have Your Back

I hadn’t listened to this in months, then I listened Friday, and am listening again now. It’s a favourite.

What a brilliant record. It’s always lovely to come back to it after a while, like visiting an old friend. It’s got beautiful piano, beautiful lyrics, and it’s Emily’s voice at its best. Soft, subtle and beautiful. The production is perfect, you can hear the piano stool squeak and every breath Emily takes. It’s so warm and cosy.

Winning is one of my favourite songs ever. The best ending to the album possible. I love albums that save the best until last, so that you come away with a warm feeling in your heart and want to listen to it again. The end of Winning gives me chills.

You need this album if you don’t have it already (!!!).
