Julie Doiron

It’s so nippy in London right now. I find I’m always waiting on cold train platforms. There’s no better way to warm myself up by shaking a leg to a sweet song. It warms my heart, at least! Lately I’ve been really been enjoying Julie Doiron. I’ve been a fan for quite a while, ever since I heard the beautifully sweet, sad Me And My Friend. It was a real treat to catch her play a couple of times earlier this year.

I would most recommend I Woke Myself Up. This year’s album, I Can Wonder What You Did With Your Day is also very lovely and worth picking up. I’d love to see her again; catch her if you can.

Here is a nice ‘Tiny Desk Concert’ she does for NPR. She does a lovely quiet version of Consolation Prize.
